Sifu John Borter

Sifu John Borter holds a 5th Degree blackbelt in Modern Jujitsu. With almost 20 years in the martial arts, he also holds blackbelts in Small Circle Jujitsu, Hapkido, Combat Hapkido, Tae Kwon Do, and Kyusho-Jitsu. He also holds certifications in Chinese Chin Na and Filipino locking principles, Military Combatives, Police Defensive Tactics, and Tactical Security and Executive Protection.

With extensive experience in numerous other styles and systems, he is an internationally recognized Self-Defense Instructor and the Director and Head Instructor for the PressurePoint Self-Defense and PressurePoint Defensive Tactics programs. He is also the head instructor of the Key-Baton Self-Defense Keychain and the ABC Child Safety and Awareness Program.

He was inducted into the 1997 World Martial Arts Hall of Fame in recognition for Outstanding Contributions to the Martial Arts, and named 2005 Jujitsu Instructor of the Year and 2007 Master Instructor of the Year for the Valadez Kenpo Association, and is a member in good standing of numerous martial arts organizations. He is on the Board of Directors of the International Combatives Self-Defense Association (ICSDA), and is a highly sought and respected self-defense and martial arts instructor.

He is the the head instructor of the Modern Self-Defense Academy in Albany, NY and the Jujitsu School of Self-Defense in Saratoga Springs NY. Sensei Borter teaches his unique style extensively to martial arts schools, civilian self-defense classes, and military, security, and law enforcement personnel. Utilizing dynamic, fast and flowing techniques, he is widely known for his popular and fun joint locking pressure point self-defense seminars.

Chin Na Seminar:

Sifu Borter will be teaching to apply Dynamic Micro-Locking principles to Chin Na joint locking techniques including fingerlocks, wristlocks, armlocks, and pressure points, to takedown and control any attacker.
